    Default Adele

Anyone who knows me, knows my taste in music varies, and is very eclectic. Being that im a huge jazz & soul music buff,, i have had this for Amy Winehouse and couldnt stop listening to her, her voice is so scattful and jazzy.. which i still love with out a doubt! But For sometime now i have been listening to this London based beauty named "Adele" , Her voice is ....OMG.. no words. I saw her show in nyc while i was up there this past june, and I couldnt stop crying when she performed my fave song "HOME TOWN GLORY" Im a very old soul, I love lyrics and melodies that make me think and send shivers up and down my spine. I gues that the Libra in me..llol ,, Here is Adele performing My fave song live.....enjoy

Also a remake of Bob dylan's To make you feel my love...

    ............I am Bella Swan.

    Hey Janira,

    great song indeed

check this out, Philip Glass - Metamorphosis 1. No soul, but somewhat the same style of beautiful minimalist piano:

I had never heard Adele until today when I read something about her in the papers and explored some songs on YouTube -the voice is ok, but does nothing for me, it also tends to spread when put under pressur. For some reason I was reminded of a singer called Melanie (aka Melanie Safka) whom I saw on a double bill with Tyrannnosaurus Rex (the original one with Marc Boland and Steve Took in London in the early 70s I guess; the style is sort of similar but Melanie is a much more evocative and powerful singer -I understand that at the age of 67 she is still performing at times.

This is a particularly bleak song, so I added her poignant version of Mr Tambourine Man,

    Enjoy

Right on! Adele has a nice voice but I don't get all the accolades although I wish her continued success. Melanie did have a powerful voice but I found few of her songs that I liked - sometimes I thing she overplayed the emotion she put into her music. I think she disappeared for a few years and had throat surgery but has been back in action for some time now.

The quintessential singer of the genre (female, pop-soul) was Eva Cassidy whose voice was clean, controlled, and dynamic.

Fell in love with Adele when chasing pavements came on in 08 or 09, she has a soulful earthy voice, i cant describe it. It's special, and unique.

I actually have a few vids, doing covers of her songs... love her!
