Keen. David Duchovny, Adam Sandler, Flaming Lips, Incubus...quite a tribute for one of THE great groups of rocks. I guess Miley Cyrus and 50 cent were busy elsewhere, huh? Always wondered what Incubus means, now I know....we suck even worse than the Flaming Lips.
Vedder and the Jam were hot. Otherwise it was pathetic.
It is comical to see/hear these clowns try to emulate Keith Moon and Entwhistle, harharharhar.
Daltrey and Townshend have lost a little, but for 64 and 63 they can still rock pretty hot. Still think their performance at the Concert for New York elevated an incredible evening to legendary status - powerful stuff. The 90 minute show last night was much better than this bit of fluff.
Watching Moonie in concert is exhausting. He has to be the most energetic human in history.

Oh I missed it but I will have to download. Some of my prized possessions are a John Entwhistle signed print of The Who by numbers which he drew and some other great art memorabilia. Moonie was the best.

When I heard the Endless Wire which has been in my car since the day it came out - I knew that Townsend and Daltrey were as awesome as ever.

I had the great privilege of seeing them in concert in the 70's on their Who's Next Tour when Keith Moon was still alive. To this day, the best concert I have ever seen. Good show last night, but I thought the only Band that came close to capturing the essence of The Who was Pearl Jam.........

S6XN9NE, I totally agree Pearl Jam did the best interpretation. The show rocked. I also loved Adam Sandler's intro to the Who. Guy can really play that guitar!
I also saw the Who on the Who's Next tour, as well as the Quadrophenia tour, both at Madison Square Garden. Some of my fondest concert memories.

And NO ONE has ever played bass more creatively than Entwistle. Just the lines in the Quadrophenia overture ensured his place forever as a virtuoso!

Well if I'd known it was on, I probably would've watched. I imagine VH1'll repeat it.

I went to see the Who twice. Once in '68, & again in '79 (maybe '80). Never a disappointment, even with the hour & a half power failure that interrupted the second one. It's amazing how much stuff they've put out through the years. I remember staying awake back in '64, listening to KOMA over the skips from Oklahoma City (I was in Arizona & there was no FM), & waiting for "My Generation" to play.

I don't get VH1 all the way up here but I'm hoping to find it on the vast internet. Endless wire was amazing.
