As far as Brazil, I hope to some day visit Brazil. One of my friends, who is an International Salesperson, said to visit Brazil just after La Carnival, which runs for the 5 days just before Ash Wednesday. He said it costs a third less and they still run the samba contests. To get by, you'll need to know how to speak Portuguese (you may be able to get by with Italian or Spanish).

Was planning a trip to Brazil in December, but lost my job. If I bounce back soon enough though I'll be going either then, or I'll just make plans again for another time as it is tops on my list.
