A lot of peoples' perception is based on exposure, and Brasil certainly (as well as Thailand) has a plethora of that. And while I will agree, that Brasil definitely has some gorgeous ladies, so does every country in South America. If you have spent plenty of time in the area, you are familiar with what I am referring to. If not, go and check it out.

that being said--they are indeed the most gorgeous tss...no doubt-of course its a matter of taste
but look--brazilian women are awesome too (gg)
but if you've ever been to brazil--and i have---you'll be surprised that the gorgeous fat assed GG women that we all dream about are not standing on every corner....SOME Brazilian women are like that---and those are the ones that are celebrated and put in magazines....there are plenty of ugly brazilian women and tss im sure--just like everywhere,
so its a combination of factors..
brazilians--when they are hot-are hot no matter whether they are guys tss-or GG.
but dont be fooled into thinking EVERYONE in brazil is a fucking goddess--not so..
that said--the combination of Spanish (portugese), and African blood--which is the fundamental Brazilian ethnic mix..is hot...the african gives the dark-smooth skin and awesome butt--and the european gives delicate gorgeous features...its just a good mix...

    my theory...

It's so sad that it's not like that all over the world. I'm not saying that because of a perverted desire to simply see more Transexuals, I'm just saying it for the positive sake of humanity.

    [quote="cam22001"]
Psychologists have found that beauty = average ... ie., the closer to possessing the average measurements you are, the more you are perceived as beautiful.
I think you are wrong again, a beautiful woman would be considered beautiful whether in Alaska or China where their "average" is totally different.
Actually he was right, he just worded it incorrectly.

Averages are extremely important to beauty; not in reference to height, fat, dress size, skin color, eye color, hair color or stuff like that which may change from place to place. Sure, someone who is an average (or typical) skin color will not be an average in another part of the world while still being beautiful.... because that's not what people talk about when they talk about averages & beauty.

What they're talking about are proportions. Take the face as an example. There is no secret that some FFS surgeons disregard ethnicity and simply take a ruler to a patients' face and go "this hairline should be moved to this part of the ruler, this nose should be changed to be within these marks, the chin should be at this location" - the concept works for every patient even if their skulls are not identical in ethnicity or size. You don't see all European & American tgirls going to Thailand for FFS come back looking like they've had an Asian girl's face transplanted onto a Caucasian body... likewise if an Asian tgirl has FFS in Europe they don't go back to Asia looking like a tiny Asian tgirl with Leni Riefenstahl's skull transplanted onto them [if you don't get the German actress reference google it].

When I had to have my face redone in early elementary school that is exactly how the plastic surgeons addressed reconstructive plastic surgery for me, as someone with birth defects/disfigurements (I wasn't there as a trans patient looking for trans surgeries). They took a ruler and looked at typical shapes, sizes, and locations in terms of my overall skull size- and said "this is what I have to do for you to look normal." It was based on just a perception of proportions & a ruler.

So why Brazil? Well here's my theory:

If you start hrt before or early enough in puberty the male specific characteristics in skull development will either not occur, or will not occur as severely. FFS is performed strictly for removing these visible sex-hormone caused differences.

Sure, there are some GGs who have protruding foreheads, too much eye bossing, wide chins- and this if it is the only issue, is not necessarily a big deal (Jessica Simpson has a cliff chin, if you know what to look for and that is usually a male, not female skull characteristic- find a pic of her and try to see if you can spot the indentation in the middle of the "point" of her chin). Its not a problem because its the only deviation from typical female skull shape. If as a package there are a lot of untypical remarks, both passing and beauty for the trans individual WILL take a hit- and early HRT use can avoid or decrease these characteristics, and do so naturally without "access to world class [whatever that is] surgeons"

Thus a GG may have one or two uncharacteristic features (or lack thereof) like being flat chested, deep voice, tall height, hairloss, thick brow- and its not a problem for them passing as girls. They go about day to day lives and don't get the odd looks and comments say, an unpassable cd, would get walking into a grocery store.

But if we are to nickle and dime every characteristic individually away as being unimportant under a "well some GGs don't have much in the way of breasts, or some GGs dont have much in the way of an ass, or some have hairloss, or some have the frames of an NHL player, etc" then you're ultimately making an argument against transitioning (in terms of the body) at all. After all, I am sure if you tried hard enough you could even find some post menopausal GGs who have facial hair & chest hair. Ok, I get the social argument "oh, but transitioning is all about the social setting, living in society as the opposite birth sex"- but if that's all there is to it, then there wouldn't be anything in appearance, beauty, or society between a GG model & Klinger from MASH.

As a package all these characteristics add up, they make a difference, and most definitely they cross-ethnicity, cross-nationality, and cross-setting WILL be noticed. ANY gg or tgirl with a long list of such features will not, anywhere in the world, be seen as beautiful.

It IS all about typical shapes/features.

Now because in Brazil its not as taboo to be trans, it is probably more likely for someone to be out as trans. In some other countries this is not the case, it can impact everything in society to buying groceries to getting min wage fast food "you-want-fries with that" employment[1] and so the choices are more limited. In a country with limited choices most people are going to either go with stealth, or go with fields where being out isn't a big deal (like adult entertainment). I argue, I accuse our society of falling under such a situation in America... and that is probably the bigger reason why Brazil appears so different on this topic.

[1] Yes in America being trans will even effect your ability to get hired as a min wage no responsibility, no resume fast food employment. We already know the Justice department of the gov isn't afraid to discriminate in firing/hiring practices (see relevant thread in the political section). And then this story caught my eye the other week:

Boycott over McDonald's 'gay' promotions grows
Ronald 'needs to end corporate subsidies for homosexual and transsexual behavior'

Your dollars for Happy Meals and Big Macs could end up paying for sex-change operations of McDonald's employees if the home of the Golden Arches continues its promotion of homosexuality, according to a pro-family group that has joined an expanding boycott of the fast-food restaurants and its Ronald McDonald's mascot.

"If McDonald's restaurants and franchises … follow the small business advice of the company's new homosexual partner – the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), which received a $20,000 grant from McDonald's – there would be chaos," said Peter LaBarbera, chief of Americans for Truth.

Protesters gather at a McDonald's near the corporate headquarters in Chicago to join in a boycott of the chain for its promotion of homosexuality

His was one of several groups, also including the Culture Campaign, Liberty Counsel, the American Family Association of Pennsylvania and the Illinois Family Institute, that held a news conference at the Chicago headquarters of the fast-food chain to join with a boycott call issued originally by the American Family Association.

LaBarbera told WND that the agenda supported by the NGLCC is pretty extreme. It recommends, for example, companies should "permit the [transsexual/cross-dressing] transitioning employee to use restrooms that correspond to his or her full-time gender presentation, regardless of where the individual is in the transitioning process."

Following a link from the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce's website leads to a promotional for children's Happy Meals at the McDonalds website

"In other words, if a 'transgender man' or, say, employee at a McDonald's believes his supposed 'gender' is really a woman, so he wears a dress and high heels, he should be able to use the female restroom. That surely would do wonders for the productivity and workplace environment of female employees and customers at a small business, including all those local McDonald's franchises!" LaBarbera said.

He said other advice from NGLCC would include:

    * Use politically correct, 'inclusive' language: 'Ensure that invitations to company events use terms like partner or significant other rather than spouse.'

    * Provide 'adoption assistance' for homosexual 'domestic partners' – thus the corporate world helps create households for children that are intentionally fatherless or motherless.

    * Providing health care coverage to transsexual employees for so-called 'medically necessary surgical procedures' – will your Quarter-Pounder purchase help subsidize 'sex-change' operations for gender-confused men?

The McDonald's logo is featured on the website of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, among other well-known companies

The news conference was at the McDonald's restaurant adjacent to McDonald's world headquarters, but LaBarbera said the Chicago media, with one exception, ignored the issue totally.

"Chicago's CBS TV affiliate fields a float every year at the city's bawdy homosexual 'pride' parade, but CBS and other major Chicago secular media were no-shows at AFTAH's pro-family coalition press conference," he said.

"Predictably, I suppose, we were completely blacked out by Chicago's and Illinos' major media – which had no excuse since they were inundated with press releases about the event by four pro-family organizations," LaBarbera said.

He said, however, people are paying attention, since some 200,000 people already have signed the boycott petition.

He noted McDonald's got an 85 percent rating by the Human Rights Campaign's pro-homosexual scorecard indicating both its advocacy for homosexuality as well as its failure to support pro-family organizations.

"McDonald's has wisely chosen to alter its menu to promote healthy eating habits. Now it needs to examine its fiscal priorities and stop rewarding unhealthy lifestyles –– starting with an end to corporate subsidies for homosexual and transsexual behavior," LaBarbera said. "Homosexuality is unhealthy, especially for men: 71 percent of male HIV cases in 2005 involved men who have sex with men, according to the CDC. And syphilis and other STDs continue to afflict men practicing homosexuality at rates astronomically disproportionate to the rest of society."

"Unfortunately, McDonalds has chosen to side with militant homosexual activists over people with traditional values," said Matt Barber, of Liberty Counsel. "The company has further escalated the controversy by lodging a personal attack against the tens of millions of Americans who support traditional sexual morality and legitimate marriage. While referring to Christians and other people with traditional values, McDonald's spokesman Bill Whitman arrogantly told the Washington Post that, 'Hatred has no place in our culture,' thereby suggesting that people who support the historical definition of marriage are simply motivated by 'hate.' This insult is highly offensive, and anyone who supports traditional marriage should boycott McDonalds and tell the company why they’re doing so."

"McDonalds should focus on food quality and safety issues instead of attacking the values held by the majority of people worldwide. Marriage between a man and a woman is the norm throughout the world. McDonalds' personal attack against those who support the traditional definition of marriage, while siding with a narrow group that promotes a radical redefinition, shows that company executives are out to lunch. McDonalds might as well change their signs to read 'billions and billions insulted,'" said Mathew Staver, chief of Liberty Counsel.

"It's a shame that McDonald's would tarnish their family-friendly image," said AFA Chairman Don Wildmon. "But the company has ramped up its support of the gay agenda and it leaves us no option but to call for a boycott."

Wildmon wrote the company with a plea for McDonald's to remain neutral in the culture war by removing McDonald's name and logo from the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) Web site (where McDonald’s is cited as a partner and ally) and withdraw McDonald's VP of Communications Richard Ellis' endorsement from the website. McDonald's ignored both requests.

"To put it politely, the company thumbed its nose at the Christian community," Wildmon said.

McDonald’s donated $20,000 to the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce in exchange for membership and a seat on the group’s board of directors. The NGLCC lobbies Congress on a wide range of issues related to the "gay" agenda including "gay" marriage.

"This boycott isn't about hiring homosexuals, or homosexuals eating at McDonald's or how homosexual employees are treated. It is about McDonald's, as a corporation, refusing to remain neutral in the culture war. The company has chosen not to remain neutral but to give the full weight of their corporation to promoting the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage," the AFA said.

The pro-family groups are encouraging families to do two things: sign, print and distribute a Boycott McDonald's petition at www.boycottmcdonalds.com; and call the local McDonald's to politely tell the manager they are boycotting the chain until it stops promoting the "gay" agenda.

LaBarbera told WND neutrality is "the least that pro-family people should expect from a place like McDonald's."

McDonald's officials declined to return a WND call seeking comment on the placement of its executive on the "gay" advocacy organization. But the corporation sent a subsequent e-mail confirming its support for the agenda of the homosexual business lobby.

"McDonald's is indeed a Corporate Partner and Organizational Ally of NGLCC. Our vice president of U.S. communications, Richard Ellis, was recently elected to its board of directors," said the brief statement to WND from Heidi M. Barker, senior director of media relations.

A spokeswoman for NGLCC refused to speak with WND except on "background" when asked about McDonald's financial contribution to the group. But she did confirm the organization would not release information on its sponsors.

Only in a society where transsexuality is a taboo will there be public protests and boycotts over the issue. You can argue TS isn't a big deal in the US, and you'd be right (how often do people who aren't trans honestly talk about it? how often is it a topic of the national government in congress or the white house? Not very often at all). BUT that doesn't mean its seen as normal, that doesn't mean discrimination isn't nationally widespread. You'd be kidding yourself to think otherwise.

And maybe its easier to withdraw from life
With all of its misery and wretched lies
If we're dead when tomorrow's gone
The Big Machine will just move on
Still we cling afraid we'll fall
Clinging like the memory which haunts us all

I don't necessarily think that all the best tgirls are from Brazil. Trannybanger makes an excellent point re. exposure.
