    I don't care if he's purple, he is the best we have got. If he gets elected I unfortunately think there will be many attempts on his life because of the lingering ignorance in this country.

    As screwed up as this sounds, the fact that he's a light skinned black man makes his chances better. It shouldn't matter but in this country it still does.

    Colin Powell was more palletable to the uptight white American public. And in some ways helped pave the way for others.
