I've come to a conclusion that identity is not something a person is born with, its a midpoint between the way a person perceives themselves and the perception of society.

An extreme example would be an African in a subway in Moscow, it takes a strong person to be "different" in a hostile societies.

Many immigrants will risk their lives for a new identity, just as many tigirls risk everything (relationships, jobs, disease, violence) for their identity.

Anyways, while defining "identity" is difficult, I sense its a pretty big issue here, on the HA board (myself included).

Okay, I'll get off the soapbox....
