Oprah is not quite as popular as she has been these days. She has encountered some backlash from some fundamentalist Christians. For example she said something like “maybe everyone has their own spiritual way”. But they believe that Christ is the only way and want her to say those exact words, it seems. Supposedly some anti Oprah vid on YouTube has like a million hits or something. I saw parts of one and they accused her of starting her own religion. They label some of her ideas as “New Age” and that is supposed to be bad.
By the way I consider myself a Christian, but I do not agree with many of the fundamentalist views. I think their interpretation of the “Word” is way too narrow. I think Oprah is a great person and does a lot of good.
