Disregarding any special effects that might have been employed in this shoot, to me it seems he is to the left of the vehicle and simply times his jump to make it appear that he is jumping over the car. Otherwise, why would his shadow appear on the right side of the car's sheet metal?

Well considering Kobe has jumped over shaq and some of the other big centers in the NBA. Jumping over a car would be nothing for Kobe, just youtube kobe jump and you see what I'm talking about. Also don't like him go MJ.

That first attempt was awesome. As far as the Lakers stopping Kobe from doing that they have no power other then in Kobe's contract that if he gets hurt outside of playing then he aint getting any money, look at the NFL player that was riding a motorcycle got in a crash and now he gets no money.
