I think that 'paranoid' is a groundbreaking classic...but that's their only album that I would listen to if I wanted to hear Sabbath...

I caught 'em live in Seattle back in the day...Ozzy was gone...but it was a good show...and so was the blotter, as I recall...

I like most of Sabbath's material, from the early years to the 80's.
"Zero the hero" with Gilian at voice does it for me.
"Sweat Leaf" on Master of reality is my favorite.

I work with lots of young metal fans. Some of them are nearly ten years old. I tell you : Black Sabbath is alive.

You mean that Black Sabbath is Hetfield's hero?

Sabbath had a Hell of a run. Their first six albums with Ozzy were great. Dio had two amazing studio albums plus LIVE EVIL which is very good. Purple Sabbath(Ian Gillan on vocals) gets bashed but I loved Born Again. Ray Gillen joined the band and put out a great demo but things didn't work out. He was replaced by Tony Martin who performed on some good tracks. Dio even snuck back into the picture in 1992 with Dehumanizer which is pretty good.

Black Sabbath has reunited again with Ozzy, Iommi, Butler, and I believe even Bill Ward is back for another album and tour. It's funny because there is also a band named Heaven And Hell with Dio, Iommi, Butler, and Ward. So basically there is now 2 Black Sabbaths. Things could change very quickly though and might have already.
