Creating gifs

OK, I admit it, I'm years behind the curve and probably of less than average intelligence...but how do you create animated gif's? Is there a single program? Numerous programs that'll do the trick?

I have an imac G5 (OS 10.3.9). Ideally I'm looking for freeware.

Try GIF Animator - also Photoshop will allow you to make GIF's.

Jessica who's our primary graphic artist uses Photoshop or other high end programs. I prefer the simpler (and faster) GIF Animator.

There's a bit of a learning curve. But it's not bad. Basically you take multiple pictures, import them into the program, give a sequence and a time delay and compile it.

Thanks, Jamie. It looks like GIF Animator is PC only...and I'm a Mac guy. So the GIFfun link Marinus sent looks like my solution for now.

I've fooled with Photoshop in the past, but don't own the program. Also, I'm learning Final Cut at present and don't think I have the heart to deal with yet another learning curve at the same time!

But I appreciate the reply!
