i've done it the other way. i'm all jealous of a girl in her photos but they i hear her in person / phone / video and she sounds like a gay guy. there's a cruel little feeling of superiority there. kind of like tabloids do to celebrities, like taking photos of them grocery shopping, with no makeup on or looking fat. i'm a jealous bitch, sorry.
seriously, though, the fagcent is hard to lose. i think mine's mostly gone though. i remember i sat down when i was 16, trying to work on my voice, listening to those voice training online, recording my voice and cringing when i play it back. as a boy, i used to get "ma'am'ed" on the phone nearly always but i don't think my voice passed then. i gave up practicing and waited until it just came naturally. it felt so fake.
the only thing i used to change was that i hated to hear myself rumble. so i just talked high enough so that i didn't do that. slowly, my intonations changed from "fagcent" to "female". it takes a while. i'll be brutally honest and admit that my roommate told me that when i'm drunk, my voice drops, not like suddenly i talk with this big man voice, but that it changes tone. a couple of times, i've freaked people out who knew that i was trans but had only heard me sound like a girl. one boyfriend said, "that voice is not supposed to come out of that body." probably true, but "supposed to" doesn't work well with transsexuals.
