Glam or Girl Next Door?
I had a conversation regarding Amanda Lepore a couple days ago. She has quite the overdone look and I am curious about the psychology behind that.
I'm not sure who to put for the "girl next door" and maybe that's the point. No crazy lip implants or F-cup implants and silicone injections. No drag/ball outfits, reasonable makeup, etc.
Maybe I just don't understand New York City but are you attracted to the glam, partying, plastic surgeries, escorting/porn, conspicuous consumption, and fast-paced life of "the scene" or would you rather have a normal girl with a dick (which could be your "little secret")?
This question is open to guys and girls alike.

This world is made up of so many colors ,shapes, and beauty. The term overdone to me is a lil extreme, it may be overdone to everyone else, but to the persons who is doing it, its a self image that they them selves had in mind and to create that is magnificent . Would you critic a artist for over or misusing their paint or their expression?? To many of us, if not all of us our bodies are our canvases , we create take away, or may add more so that at the end we see the masterpiece we have always in visioned .

Amanda Lepore has her own thing going on and that's cool, I guess. I'm not criticising her.
I guess that's the question - is your life a performance piece or are you just trying to be "normal"?
Before I transitioned, in high school, I was very out (trans to some friends, gay to everyone else) and flamboyant. My whole life I've tried on and off to be bouncy and happy to counter my deep depression. Getting away from my parents and getting out of high school, I lost the angst that I was fighting invisibility and oppression. I transitioned and became, well, boring. I'm definitely not as visible as before but I like it better.
I want nothing more than a good husband, a decent living and kids. What use do I have for Chanel, Gucci or Christian Dior? What attracts people to the glamour ~ the women and the men who love them?

Well Amanda does not have a penis.
She's had SRS since she was 18.
You only live once and life is short. So wether you want to blend in or stand out, you should always do what makes you happy.
I love glamour and galmorous women. But that is just my prefference.

there's a lot of porn and escort girls who do the girl next door look and they are the most popular. i like the girl next door look for what could be more special than pulling down a pair of jeans on a pretty girl and discovering her big cream filled eclair!
and that's why the cubs will never win the series

For me confidence is highly attractive, and a woman who is just as confident in jeans, blouse, and a ponytail with little or no make-up on is quite a turn-on, but -- BUT -- a woman who can transform from that into a very glamorous sexy vixen at the drop of a hat is even MORE attractive. She has two sides to her iow. A girl-next-door looking woman is far more appealing and attractive when one knows there is a "wild" or other side to her which her glamorous side can reveal. Even if she goes glamorous two to three percent of the time, it's how she works that three percent that makes all the difference in the world.
Three-quarters of this poll favors TGND at *this* point. I wonder how that would play out if it were a GG in place of a TG, or if would make any difference at all? Do men in general want to play second fiddle to an eye magnet in other words? Just a thought.

Well, men like to have both. The girl next door to hang out with and the glammed up whore when inside the bedroom. Go figure! LOL But I guess there is a happy medium between the two, no?

HURDLE #1: If guys would learn to stop over complementing, and not compliment every tranny (or girl) they see and talk to (so a girl would feel it was sincere and that she's special), maybe they'd get somewhere but a dead end! lol

There's glammed, and there's GLAMMED, and most guys are more comfortable with the former I believe. They like their girls to look hot, and fantasize about seeing their woman in the skimpiest and sexiest of attire, but not so hot that every man is checking her out and thus making him feel uneasy.

if she doesnt look just as attractive without makeup on whats the point?
im all for the average girl with little to no make up on most days and a considerable but unnoticeable amount on formal occasions... if you can see shes got a mask on from miles away with 9 dpt of short sightedness its a deal breaker
