For some the journey is a smooth superhighway, for others its a bumpy dirt road. If you know in your heart where whatever path you are on takes you, why would you ever take directions or a detour from anyone who has no real idea where you are, or where you need to be?

Many of us don't have a lot of money, don't have parental support, don't start until our late teens or early 20s (up to much later!), don't have the greatest natural facial structure, are significantly taller than the average American woman, etc.
If you want it, go for it. Don't let other people put you down for just starting out.
I acknowledge that some men want a TS who looks like a GG model but with a giant cock. That's not the reality, most of the time. Even as far as GGs go, porn is so full of makeup and retouching, not to mention plastic surgery. But even someone like me can pick up good looking men if you work with what you've got.
Passing is 75% confidence. When I was just starting out and prior to transition, bathrooms were very awkward. If I went into the men's, even dressed androgynously, they would stare and I stopped going in there once someone "corrected" me. But I've never been harassed in a women's bathroom and I use them all the time and have no problems carrying on conversations with the women in there or anything. Why? Confidence.
Confidence lets you move into the women's dorms at the university without telling anyone. It's not good looks. I had been on hormones only a year, I hadn't had any facial hair removal (laser/electro), maybe my roommates had me figured out but just didn't want to say anything, who knows? But I had confidence in myself and it worked.
Sometimes you will have people who put you down. Sometimes you will have people who harass you or call you a man. You know what? The most beautiful transsexuals have had people do that kind of crap when certain people find out that they're transsexuals. People suck, don't let them stand in your way.
Being a transsexual is not something we asked for, it is not a choice. We choose to do something about it, yes, but we're not trying to be anyone's fetish or freakshow. We're just trying the best we know how to be normal when society stands against us. We just want to be loved, like anyone else. Nearly all of us would push a button that would just make us instantly into normal, non-transsexual women. But here we are and there is no magic button. So we struggle and fight as hard as we can, just to be normal.
It sucks but hopefully you can find the joy in it. Ignore those who don't have a clue what transsexualism is all about and who put others down for how they look, whether they be men, GGs or other transsexuals. They are just insecure.
