Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder precipitated by the fear of having a
panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As
a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar
places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home,
experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."
For some transwomen the world can be a very hostile place.
They may be subject to verbal ridicule, or at risk for physical harm.
Also, for some that may be in the industry they may be very insular
and isolated. They may work from home, or they may venture forth
only to be with peple who are transfriendly.
They may also be nocturnal in when they conduct their activities, again
this is if they are a bar girl, or an escort who sees the majority of her
clients at night.
