(off topic) question about vehicle a/c adapter
I was trying to install my satellite radio and i fucked up my a/c adapter and it no longer works although the other one in my vehicle does. Does anyone know any way I can fix it? thanx to all with relevant replies.

How exactly did you "fuck up" the adapter? Do you mean smoke came out of it, or you like snapped it in half?

It is intact but there seems to be no power supply coming through it anymore.

What were the events leading up to it not working?
And you are talking about the actual adapter and not the power outlet itself, right?

The power supply. sorry thats what i mean. There seems to be no power coming out of it anymore. before i tried installing my satellite radio it worked just fine.

Did you try plugging in something besides the satellite radio to make sure?
I don't know a lot about vehicle electronics, but my first assumption would be a blown fuse if there's no power coming from the outlet.

Yah, I vote with Claire on this: Check the fuse first. Make sure the ignition is OFF when you do your initial hookup, while there may be a spike at first, it may not be constant, so after hookup turning the ignition on may not have the same effect. I work with electric/electronic machinery every day and they pop fuses like you wouldn't believe. Changing them on the fly, while the system is charged, just means that we change more fuses.
