By contrast last week , one of our Sunday papers gave away on Saturday and Sinday two C.D. 's called " Elton John - Legendary Covers " What it consists of was covers of 70's songs . Elton , when he was still session man " Reg. the piano player " was hired by budget companies to make budget versions of the hits of the day , these were sold at about half the price of the orignal L.P's as they would have then , been . Anyway these were put on CD's as a " givaway" . What is obvious is Elton's musicianship . Every track is , far from being an insipid pale , or poor copy , is in fact IDENTICAL IN EVERY LAST DETAIL , in some instances one could say , even BETTER , than the " original" . Every style from Creedence Clearwater Revivial to Cat Stevens to ... " You name it " !!
The producer said " you always tried if you could to book " Reg. the piano player " for a session , reg only had to hear a song just ONCE and he could reproduce it exactly . it didn't even matter musch if the paino had half the notes missing , Reg could always get round it !!! "
Elton also played on many , many of the legendary orignal hits of the time including Hollies classic , " He Ain't Heavy, Hes' My Brother "

So as I say those privelaged in the public eye , should adn must be closely scrutinised . When I was out one weekend In Soho . I saw a particularly obnoxious , pompus member of parlaiment slip furtively into a porn shop . Inside he was rifling through porno tapes . This was a particularly obnoxious , self - appointed " guardian of public morals " , who had nasty habit of suing for libel , any person or media outlet who said anyhting about him unflattering or of which he did nto approve . He had a load of wealthy , sponger cronies who had nothing better to do with theri money than to finance him in these actions , adn bask in the reflected publicity . He had already won substantial libel damages against the state owned bbc television for allegations ( later proved to be quite true !!! ) that he and another member of parlaiment soliciited money to ask quesitons in The House . ( the other member at least had teh decency to admit it resign and go when caught , but due to England's weak laws he was not prosecuted or as he should have been , imprisoned ) Any way , seeing this MP , called Hamilton , porn shopping , using my 1.3 megapixel camera - phone grabbed a couple of pictures which I sent to The News Of The World , who were grateful , sending me in due course , 200 Hundred Pounds . O.K. not a front page story not a fortune but it was a nice little story and the 200 Hundred Pounds paid for a nice weekend break for me Why should I give damn about hamilton anymore than he gives a damn about me !!!! ?

Couldn't pay the costs and The rich spongers who had financed Hamilton , refused t pay Fayed's costs , which is the English system !!! Fayed had Hamilton declared bankrupt , Hamilton lost his Parliamentary seat and is reduced to lving off his wife's earnngs , when she can get a job appearing on a tv panel game or the odd bit of wrtitng for a magazine

Thank you for the correct information on the amount of damages. I had that wrong. Of course, if they had NO right of privacy, as you contend, the Court would have ruled against them and they would have received no damages. And as far the injunction you imply they wrongly requested, the court specifically ruled it was properly granted and never should have been lifted.
