Does This Make You Gay? Yup.
Will someone please explain to me the attraction to crossdressers, transvestites, drag queens and girls who couldn't pass if their life depended on it?
Okay, so transsexuals are women who used to be boys when they were young but now are essentially women everywhere but downstairs. But in spite of the cock, guys still want them to be women.
Then you have crossdressers, guys who occasionally get all done up to get their jollies off on surrounding themselves with feminine things. Okay, strange enough, but then you have guys who are into them, at least when they're all dolled up. They are into crossdressers over and above transsexuals! Why?!?
I get straight guys into women. I get gay guys into masculine, butch men. I get gay guys into cute, twinky boys. I even mostly get guys into transsexuals (women with different parts). I just don't get guys into other guys dressed up like women.
Some guys say they're into TS because we have to struggle to be who we are our whole lives. Well, that queen you're fucking on Saturday night is going to take out her falsies, pull off that wig, comb over his hair and put on a suit and tie on Monday.
If you're into guys, you're into guys. If you're into girls, you're into girls (penis or vagina). If you're into both, you're a slut :P But what the hell is a guy into guys in women's clothing? That's bizarre to me.

It doesn't appeal to me, personally, but I can understand it, at least in the abstract. Human sexuality is so complex and varied, that what gets one person off may simply turn another off. I know guys who solely drawn to CDs/TVs and not to TSs: as soon as their "girl" feminizes herself with implants (boobs) or other 'permanent' alternation, the attraction disappears for them. Some even go further, and are only turned on by their partner in drag, but not in boi mode.
As to whether this makes them "gay," yes, I'd have to agree that it does. With a bit of a twist, sure, but still gay.

I know some ~ both gay and straight ~ people don't get bisexuals. I've been with all sorts of different kinds of people ~ men, women, MTF, FTM, thick, thin, older, younger. I've been around the BDSM scene a bit and done a lot of stuff that makes vanilla folk cringe or simply not understand. I'm 23, and while I'm no slut, I'm open and I've seen a lot of things. This is just one that weirds me out.

true, and good point Kira- but I think she meant if given a choice and the guy in question chooses a cd/tv over a ts then what's up with that. I would have to say that's a gay man who likes his men in makeup- cause once the clothes come off what's left is a man- nothing more, nothing less
the "why's" of it all? I don't pretend to know.

Although I've never had a true fetish, where it's required for me to get off. I understand the indirect sexuality of a fetish. I understand the motivations of the crossdresser much more than those of his admirer.
Perhaps the role of the admirer is similar to that of a BDSM top. The top gets off on bending the bottom to his/her will and with the help of objects or objectified body parts, gives their energy to the bottom. The bottom gladly complies to being controlled or hurt because their attraction to the object or the abstract of control is as much or more than their attraction to the top.
So the crossdresser is attracted to the clothing and/or to the idea of being a woman (autogynephilia, in Blanchard's words). The admirer is attracted to feminizing the crossdresser, possibly as a method of punishment or humiliation. It makes the top feel powerful to feminize a man.
Or am I off-base here?

A cd, or drag queen will have more of male physique
and attributes remaining, including usually a more
functioning penis, while still looking somewhat fem.
The being somewhat fem allows the act to be somewhat
less 'gay',
