Default Girls: How Old Were You?

I was intrigued by Melissa Carter's comment on this thread:

One thing I find curious is they discuss transgender as if it were an issue from birth. All of the MtoF transsexuals were presented as having feelings of the opposite gender from the age of toddler. That was never the case for me. I've stated many times, I was a boy and lived a boy's life. Feminine feelings didn't begin until I was in college. That apparently is not the norm but I'm living proof that such cases do exist.
    So here we go:

    1. When did you first struggle with people telling you that you were a boy?
    2. If you came out as gay first, at what age?
    3. When did you come out as trans?
    4. When did you start hormones?
    5. When did you go "full-time", name change, etc.?
    6. When did you have GID-related surgeries, if any?
    7. How old are you now?

    1. I find this oddly worded, but i felt stressed about not being treated like the girls at like 3 or 4. I went to catholic school and was the only "boy" in the class.
    2. To myself? Adolescence. My first RL bf was when i was 17, was out to everyone but my parents by 18, and told my parents i liked boys when i was 19.

Some point in elementary school, I don't pretend to know much from when I was a toddler. I was definitely depressed by age 5 or 6 though. Gender became important around 7-8, I think. It was major stress definitely before age 10.

    2. If you came out as gay first, at what age?
I learned about gay people around age 10, I identified with them somewhat. I knew I liked guys but didn't fully accept that I was one of them. I had crushes on boys in middle school and by age 13, had a digital gay porn collection. I came out at age 15 but not to my parents for another year because they were pretty homophobic and I was scared.

    3. When did you come out as trans?
I found out serious information on transsexuality from books and the internet at 16. I was voraciously reading everything trans I could get my hands on to plan my transition, finally! Well, not quite. My parents confronted me about the trans/gay thing and were dead set against it. More frustration, so close yet still trapped.

    4. When did you start hormones?
I lived an androgynous, openly fem, politically "Queer" gay life from 15/16-19. I really wanted to just be living as a girl but was very frustrated and angsty that I couldn't because I didn't want my parents to throw me out on the street. More frustration came when I graduated as a boy, which I promised myself that I wouldn't.

I started dating an FTM at 18, he wasn't in transition yet so people thought we were lesbians or sisters or straight or something. But at least he undersood and he encouraged me to transition. I finally started hormones at 19. I felt so late to the gate but at least I was there.

    5. When did you go "full-time", name change, etc.?
I was living essentially "full-time" at 19/20 but didn't officially change my name for another year but nobody bothered me in women's restrooms and everyone called me by my chosen name, including teachers. I got my first female license right before my 21st birthday so I wouldn't get hassled buying booze I moved into the girls' dorms shortly thereafter anddidn't say a peep about my status to anyone.

    6. When did you have GID-related surgeries, if any?
I haven't been able to afford any surgeries yet but I had my first laser session at 21 and two more at 22. My fourth is coming up soon. I'm going to try to make the last couple closer togther. Body laser to start soon. I can't wait for permanently smooth legs and hairless ass and never another prickle from my bush!

    7. How old are you now?
    I turned 23 last month.

I was a wee, tiny, precocious child, sitting on the floor
of my Grandparents apartment in the 'Boogie Down' -
    'Da Bronx'

I read this headline, and the content of the paper.

It was the news of Christine Jorgensen's SRS.

Thus as a mere child I knew what fate had ordained for me.

I also knew that I wasn't gay, and understood the vast differences.

I'm a middle-aged women who started her transition fairly early, and
have been full time going on 34 years, 23 as a pre op, 11 as a post op.

Christine Jorgensen was my inspiration too. I ran across a contemporary article on her in the Brittanica yearbook. I saw the small, black and white photo and I knew that there were people like me, not just Springer freaks. I showed the article to my grandma and she remembered who that was but was disgusted. Later, I had a book on her and my mom picked it up off the floor, read the flap and said, "You'd better not be thinking of having a sex change!"

As for the gay thing, I don't know. I didn't know what else to call myself. I felt like a freak in society and I played off that. I liked guys but I wasn't one but I was... I spent a lot of time angry at God for it, I liked boys, I acted like a girl, most of my friends were girls, the only thing that was wrong was that I had a penis and thus people wouldn't believe me that I was a girl. Then came puberty and a whole lot more became wrong...

Just reading all of your comments reminds me of why I'm attracted to TG ladies. While I fully realize the road can be tough for many based on societal pressures to confirm to A or B, it takes a certain confidence to step up and be what you are without any pretence behind it. I will always love you ladies.

Yeah I'm a wee bit of a kiss ass and a definite romantic.

    1. When did you first struggle with people telling you that you were a boy?

I was about 7 when I really remember this becoming an issue. I specifically recall my father negoitating with me about what exactly I could do to my nails. (I could paint them but only with clear polish).

    2. If you came out as gay first, at what age? I was called a sissy and accused of being gay from about age 7. Though I would latter try to live as a gay male I never really identified with it.

    3. When did you come out as trans?

Twice. When I was 13. It was at the villiage fair. I Retreated from being trans when I was 21 and came back again when I was 25. *

    4. When did you start hormones? 13 thru 21 then 25 to present.*

    5. When did you go "full-time", name change, etc.? 14 thru 21 then 25.5 to present. I have always used my given name as it is a unisex name.

    6. When did you have GID-related surgeries, if any?

Thanks to my choices, lack of any moral support, and a good deal of transphobia * I found myself 24 with a respectable ammount of facial hair. I have had to endure laser hair removal to get rid of it. Most of it is gone but not all of it yet. What remains are hairs that have been miniaturized instead of removed.

I plan on having at least liposuction this year and getting implants. I have hormone tits but I feel I could use more volume.

    7. How old are you now? 27 and loving every minute of it.

What is really gained from such comparisons? I mean so what if one person comes out at 10 and the next at 30 or 50. So far as I am concerned that one is a transsexual will radiate from within. I know life is better if your vibe, and outside appearance are not contradictory.

    * These declarations may raise some questions. Well they have been asked before and I have answered. I answered here.. In brief I submit all the rest of my body as proof of my story. How else does one come to be 5'7.5" 36B 27 40 wearing size 9 womens shoes w/o surgery (signs of early hormones) and somehow end up with a beard to remove? I hope any matter of my honesty and sinerity will be considered closed.
