If yu liked Ali talking smack then why not mayweather
Don't forget people didn't like Ali at first, most people(white people) watched to see him lose.

Yeah... And at the end of whatever it was you said, Hatton still lost. Talk your way outta that one, friend.
Of course he lost, I'm not delusional. I'll honour the bet.

But the ref deducted a point for nothing and repeatidly broke up the fight.

That being said Floyd was the better fighter but he even said himself Hatton put up a great fight.
I'm still trying to figure out why anyone would bet on Hatton in the first place... as soulRipp said, he doesn't have the power to beat Mayweather, nor does he have much of anything else he'd need to accomplish that feat.

But about the Mayweather being the new age Ali thing... Not at all. Ali stood for certain principles; Floyd's just boxing's version of 50 Cent. Nowhere near as iconic, nowhere near as significant, nowhere near as great. Please, don't sully Ali's reputation by associating him with Floyd... it's an unforgivable insult to the man and all that he stood for, in a time when taking the positions he did could have well gotten him killed, and did get him banned from boxing for several years while he was yet in his prime. What sacrifices has Floyd made? Exactly... Let's not confuse "great" with "grate".

Fair point but Hatton put up a really good fight considering he's a light-welterweight. They had him ahead on points until he got that point deducted for no apparant reason. Then he forced the issue and got caught out. Mayweather showed his class in round 9 and 10 and he's the best fighter on the planet. I just thought Hatton's style would be more of a problem to Mayweather. Hatton nearly had him down in the first round so it could easily have been a different story. Good value for money anyway.

OK I eat my words, Mayweather was just too good. The ref was a twat but Mayweather's defense does seem to be unbeatable!

I actually feel quite sick about Ricky getting knocked out but he lost to the better fighter, not the better man, but the better fighter!

I've never felt so bad for a fighter getting KO'd..

    He did himself proud anyway.

I know man, but it hurts, but Mayweather is a great fighter and least he payed Ricky respect at the end.

I think the occasion got to him and he lost his game plan, it's a shame but yeah, we still love him!

The ref did his best to disrupt his gameplan, it was one of the worst refereeing performances I've seen, if not the worst.

The first few rounds he was breaking up the fight every few secs because he knew Hatton fights on the inside. Mayweather was brilliant but the ref just left a few doubts in peoples minds, of what might have happened if it was handled properly.

Yep, but Ricky totally abandoned the body attack, and in all honesty he was picked off from the second round. He was never accurate enough. Like billy said maybe he's just not natural enough at that weight!

I agree, he's not a natural at that wait at all. He struggled with Collazo yet he still stepped up a weight again and fought the best fighter in the world in his own backyard. The guys got balls of steel, did you see the way he kept coming at Mayweather after taking seriosly heavey duty punches. His problem is he's no defense.

Here we go,typical bitter blue excuses, excuses, Hatton's mum could have been the ref,it would have made no difference to the outcome of the fight.Hatton didn't lose because of a gameplan,Hatton was simply outclassed.
Mayweather may be asshole but he's a all time great.
