it can get expensive and you can run into alot of unknowns also when doing a site, i shut down to info sites years and years ago because the cost to run the free info was becoming a hassle. but i have several friends that have started and shut down several sites because of issues with content or lack of getting new content, you can have a great idea and at the same time you see it as a cash cow but remember it takes alot of effort and work to get going and alot of time on your part to get successfull, the more income you start to make on the site the more work you end up putting into it. some girls get away with there own sites because of when / how they got started and they had the time to invest into making it a success.

I'm just thinking back to reading your recollection of recieving your first check from members when you started your bbs site (or whatever it was).
You got a check for $2000 (or whatever) and you said you puked at the bank.
That's the start of the dream (which is kinda amusing in it's own way), I can't see any reason to fuck with anyone else who wants to chase there own grand ideas.
Someone has an idea, more power to 'em.
Listen to negatives, and you'll never make it happen.
On the other hand, I'm the last person anyone should listen too, I'm the patron saint of the lost cause.

Personally I think that the straight porn market is really the way to get rich. Shemales are a niche and our market is limited a lot. But I know sites like Bridgette Kerkove's and Asia Carerra's have made $300k a year. That is exceptional.
Steven got started in the era of Danny's hard drive. Today she wouldn't be worth a fraction of what she's built. I look at Seanchi as more of a pioneer who took the risk to put porn on the Internet and it's paid off for him.
The girls gone wild tapes have made a fortune. Talk about a low startup cost. Go somewhere and get a few dozen shemales plastered so you don't have to pay them anything for the video you shoot and you might be on to something.

I say give it a try, Do as much as you can without filing for bankruptcy. I agree most people see Shemales as a niche But then again there are alot of people who see Interracial sex as some sort of Niche. People proclaim they watch it because they like the different contrast. Nothing is as it seems nowdays, even straight sex.

First thing I'd suggest any prospective webmaster to do is consider a referral site. Something like (but not like) HungAngels.com - I have a few of my own referral sites, to my own sites which bring in $2500 a month for next to no work or outlay. If you can make that work...

BTW, as is the story of my life, I got into web design in '96 and by '97 was working for a 60-million-dollar software company. But I didn't have the foresight to develop a shemale website then, when it would've been smart to do so. Props to seanchai for seizing the moment, and then riding it for all it's worth ever since. Ya done good, seanchai!
