Default If you just had a baby..

And your baby was born with two sets of genitals (a penis and a vagina)..

Which "sex" would you keep and why?

    a. would you keep both as it is?

    Or

    b. would you go with what the doctor/s suggested (getting rid of the less prominent "sex" characteristic of your infant)?

HURDLE #1: If guys would learn to stop over complementing, and not compliment every tranny (or girl) they see and talk to (so a girl would feel it was sincere and that she's special), maybe they'd get somewhere but a dead end! lol

I would leave the baby as is until he/she is old enough to decide if she is a boy or a girl. From what I hear kids know pretty early in life which way they will go.
Doctors don't know shit and if you just happen to have a really old closed minded doctor, you could be making the biggest mistake ever.

An amature does it till they get it right,
A professional does it till they can't get it wrong.

Unless the issue impeded the child from urinating or later developing correctly after reconstructive surgery, I think I'd leave it like it was and let the child grow old enough to decide whether they want to be male, female, or stay the way they are.

If it were an emergency situation and the child HAD to go under the knife, I'd have the doctor take a good hard look at the genitalia inside and out and have them decide whether the child is more male or more female then have their sex changed.

Keep both until we see what he / she develops into.

You have to leave it for the child to decide.

well I would go with what the doctor said, most times only one set is full functional and some times only one set has the ability to give them sexual pleasure. I would go with what ever would be best at the time, if they end up gay, straight, what ever later, it doesn't bother me either way, I'm bi as it is and have had some great experiences with both sex's, so I would just do what I thought was best for them in the long run.

then if they really wanted I would help them change it later, they are my baby after all...

Should have been a poll, Ms. H.

My intersexed friend often said that "The doctors always guess wrong" and in my limited experience with knowing IS people, this is spot on. He was born genetically male, but in female form (Vagina, no uterus), and when he hit puberty his muscle mass and overall build (As well as his gender and sexual identities) went to the genetic, not the mechanical side of his makeup. Of course, at the outset, the doctors gleefully proclaimed "It's a girl!". NOT!

My vote would be to leave nature alone to take its course. When the individual is old enough to define themselves (Which can come at a surprisingly young age) only then should anything 'corrective' be considered and even then it should be the choice of the individual.
