Ha! What a crock! There is nothing wrong with 6000 sq. ft. of living space plus attached maids quarters, a muscle car, and plenty of MONEY to spend!

The communists just don't get it!!! It's not about color, normal vs pervert or any of the other categories invented by the left. The only categories are smart and stupid.

Low self esteem and materialism go hand in hand? What a surprise...

...normal vs pervert or any of the other categories invented by the left.
nice to know the right wing fails to distinguish normal from perverse behavior. frankly, i suspected as much from their actions; but i was fooled by their rhetoric. so what exactly then do they mean by family values?

the bible has a quote about "the love of money" being the greatest sin. Perhaps single minded pUrsuit of wealth is a symptom of a lack of meaningful personal relationships. See Mr. Scoorge in a "Christmas carol". Bah! Humbug!

The key comparison is smart vs stupid. Smart people don't want government handouts or commie redistribution of the wealth. Stupid people want to take everything they can get their hands on. They have low self-esteem because they can't make a buck.

Some of the founding fathers were smart in that they wanted only land owners to vote. When you look at what the left/red types have done in this country I couldn't agree more.

Let's see. Donald Trump wants to take everything he can get. That characteristic is known as GREED. In spite of being greedy, he seems to have an undeserved abundance of self-esteem (at least on the surface). And yes, he knows how to make a buck too.

Smart people don't necessarily want government handouts. But it's not a handout if you pay for yourself with taxes; e.g. social security is not a handout. Look, if you buy insurance and are unfortunate enough to wind up getting more financial benifits then you payed in, is that a handout? You and the company made a bet and they lost. But like a casino, they're not too worried about losing just one bet.

It's neither smart nor stupid to look at the distribution of wealth in this country (US of A) and around the world and be heartbroken at the horrible consequences of such vast inequities. It's compassionate. Smart and stupid would be adjectives that apply to proposed solutions those inequities. I agree that a communistic approach is probably not wise. But we have the hindsight of history to tell us that. Yet history also tells us that concentrations of wealth translate to concentrations of power and concentrations of power are deleterious to democracy.

While i agree with your overall point, Trish, I see Trump as the perfect example of poor self-esteem. His greed isn't materialistic (and wow,he has such gaudy taste), it's about power-he is still the little boy who got bullied.
