Truth I can back her up on this. To a young TS being hot is important. Almost a matter of life or death because even with another career in developement looking bad can lead to starvation. Further more when I see a TS who is "Hot", passable and pretty etc. I think wow she must have had her shit together, made and spent a great deal of money, etc. Being hot is a symbol of your status as much as clothes or shoes.

That "researcher" you mentioned most likely was already in her position of prominence when she transitioned. That is a whole other story. Such people are often "offended" by transsexuals who pass and are pretty and young. They talk about passing not being important. They talk about how those who can pass should be out and always tell a lover right when they first meet and all that.

Hell even older transsexuals who transitioned young don't really totally outgrow thinking that a pretty Ts is almost automatically successful. Surely you have read the "transsexual womens success stoires" gathered by Dr. Lynn Conway. I have looked at that webpage for years and let me tell you the lions share of those "successful" transwomen were pretty and passable. For a long time it would be pointed out who "transitioned when young". Especial praise was for those who started young, passed through the "transsexual ghetto" then went on to bigger and better things (Kind of like Dr Conway herself).

Don't kid your self if TS's have much more pressure to be hot than GG's. That's a fact.
