I liked Roger Moore's Bond, but he was just a little bit too tongue-and-cheek for me at times, and how old was he when he took the role? Yeah, right.

By the way, if Connery is the standard, I'd argue that Dalton -- with his hardcore seriousness -- brought a bit of that Connery character back. That Bond (Dalton) took his job serious. I never quite understood the criticism heaped his way. If any Bond should be criticized, it should be the one with invisible cards and ice castles.

If I remember some of the criticism, it was that he was too emotional. That is, that Bonds don't tear up. Bullshit. It added a little depth to the character.
