True. And I wasn't trying to take it out of context or anything. Although I'm still interested in hearing people's thoughts on the evolution of the genre. From what I've seen of Japanese 'new half' videos, for example, it followed the same... trajectory? A progression from movies where the male actors actively avoided genital contact (or the producers decided it wasn't going to sell) to more 'enthusiastic' interaction and a less passive role for the woman. You know, just to see if that's the general trend in whatever country's productions.

If so, then it seems to be progress of a sort toward broader acceptance. Or again, I could just be suffering from "confirmation bias."

Sorry, Wendy. Didn't mean to provoke anyone-- just thinking out loud.

Here's my point of view. Many years ago I didn't think I would ever buy she-male movies because it was not my kind of genre. For me the girls didn't look girlish enough. But then I noticed over the years that the girls kept looking better and better and the girl who got me hooked on these movies was Danyelle Evangelista. When I saw her on the boxcover I jut had to buy the movie and I got hooked. So my evolution has to do with the girls keep getting hotter and hotter and the movies are also being shot better and better, she-male has become more mainstream if you compare it with like 10 years ago.

Hi let me tell you about the evolution of tgirl porn here where I live, Brazil.
Some years ago it was impossible to see tgirls porn 'cause the video store had only straight porn. About 10 years ago I saw the first tgirl video here and it was "Mr. Madonna 2" . After that I saw lots of brazilian movies and then I discover the americans movies ,,, in ten years the porn industry got bigger. It's amazing all the evolution and now with internet let's see what'll happen.

Well as a guy who is living in Israel i can just say that the Tgirl porn have evolved alot the past 10 years.
but i think its mostly because of society woldwide.
if you think for a minute woman all over the years where portraited as housewifes or took a passive role in life , there for the porn was maily for men and thus it allways showed what men wanted to see , passive girls even if they had a cock between their legs.
nowdays that woman take much bigger role and todays woman is precieved as a strong woman who wants to sucseed in so called "man's world" there is much more room for tgirl porn especialy the fact that being gay is no longer considered as a taboo and now days especialy in israel in the last 10 years , stright people are going to gay parties and so and everything is mixed with everything thus tgirl porn.
i think todays man wants sometime to me more controled ever then before and we want sometimes to be a bit passive this is why tgirl porn is doing really well , it allways has room for us in our fantasies this is why i would connect between tgirl porn and strap-on porn (historicly wise) people are much more open , today you can see in Israel in chat rooms tgirls speaking openly and showing their pictures on the mainstream sites .

Me being an old head, I can remember 10 years back and then some. :P

I would concur with what the OP has said that back in the day that men
didn't pay as much attention to the girls genitilia as they do now, which
    was fine and dandy.

A few reasons may be as TJT pointed out 'the magic of the little blue pill'
has enabled girls to be more erect. And also as djlunitik has pointed out
societal roles for men and women have been more in flux, thus we see
more changes due to that as well.

I've got a couple of old VHS mix tapes that i really need to convert to
DVD but one can definitely see the evolution.
