Default On The Evolution of TGirl Porn

All right. Bear with me for a second. I thought I'd float a serious idea here for once and see what people had to say.

If you watch (American) TG porn any older than the mid-90's, or maybe even the late 90s, I'd guess it's usually done in a very 'GG' style. As in the fact that a TGirl is involved is downplayed in a big way. The man in the scene goes out of his way to avoid contact with the girl's junk, or they'll include a GG to take care of that. Sure, it's anecdotal evidence, but I think you get the idea.

Now that I've seen a bit from Japan and Italy, it seems like they're about where the American stuff was back then-- I can't be too specific because I'm not a TS porn scholar. Japan is still a nation of closet cases, and I suspect Italy places a high premium on machismo.

On the other hand, I remember a British lad mag writing a story on the subject a few years ago saying that it's one of the fastest-growing genres, and it's obviously changed in a big way in the US pretty recently.

Here's my thought-- although TS issues as a whole are still seen as more Springer than Oprah (Princess Gianna could attest to that), there's obviously something in society that is not only increasing the production-- since there's obviously a market-- but that the production follows a pretty typical arc in terms of going from 'testing the waters' to enthusiastic production. Maybe the same is true with bisexual pornography, but I suspect gay porn was always a matter of 'what can we get away with producing,' rather than what peoplewould buy.

OK. So that isn't exactly earth-shattering, since you could say the same thing about interracial porn, gay porn, etc. But I'd be interested to hear from people, especially in other countries since this site had plenty, who could talk about the evolution of TGirl Porm in their own countries, how it relates to the US, and other various thoughts on the topic.

I'm not sure about the Italian porn tho'. Any Italian porn with TS's have been extremely hot and passionate.

You have to remember that before the early/mid-90's there were no drugs like Viagra to help the girls up? What was the point of have the male talent suck on a flaccid dick for 10 minutes with no possibility of an erection or money shot from the girl? The same with the girl screwing the guy. You can't fuck w/a limp dick. People don't pay for porn to be bored.

Due to medical advances more of the girls can be functional now. The male talent has something to perform on.

Damn. Not the point and not the point, respectively. It isn't about the quality of directing and it isn't about Tgirls on top. Maybe I'll give this a bump someday when more are online.

I think i know what you mean SkyTwo. I noticed the same thing about older Ts porn, that the guy would pretty much ignore or actively avoid touching the girls genitalia. I was surprised, frankly, back in the early 90's
by all the ts phone sex ads in the back of Hustler and Penthouse. I think that, while still a small portion of the total porn industry TS porn is increasing, and that must be in response to demand, plus the internet has made it much easier to market to smaller target audiences. I wonder when TS will start making more of a showing in mainstream porn, or if that is still to much on the fringe. I think there will eventually be more of a crossover. On a side note, i bought some ts tapes at a store about 10 years ago and I happened to see the clerk filling out a form that was for internal store use, and it had check boxes for the 'category' of porn; i.e. straight, gay, bi, interracial, I found it interesting that he checked the straight box, so the people marketing this stuff are classifying it as straight. That may have changed since then, or there may now be a separate ts class,

I think these days, they have a transexual category.

This thread went nowhere, but you knew what I was getting at, Tonka. It's interesting to see the 'evolution' of the genre in the US, and-- I think-- see the same process in other countries.

But Tonka and Wendy's comments reminded me of a Savage Love column from a while back. A woman wrote in scared that her bf was gay because he liked TG porn. That's happened a couple of times since I became a fan, but I got a kick out of his reply. And yes, I realize that the last thing this site needs is another thread about that topic. But it was funny. Something like "your boyfriend may be a little queer, but he's definitely not gay."

Damn. I should've kept this on topic, since it was my topic. Any thoughts on the evolution of the genre?

I only posted the category because as a Producer, performer and director I know where MOST porn stores and AVN categorize it: Straight Speciality: Transsexual..

My post was nothing more or nothing less.
