    facebook,myspace, bebo... That's most of your problem. I'm not on ANY of those sites, what a waste of time.

    Scorp, thanks for that-- I have installed the Firefox extension. Note you have to configure it to block the tracking, it's set to allow by default. Tools>CutomizeGoogle Options. Then go through the pages one by one and check the options you want.

    Remember if you're not on Firefox (and even if you are) 127.0.0.1 is your little friend.


    You can completely block Google's tracking through this tactic, which is available through your HOSTS file, as well as a whole heap of other nasty shit. Needs a tiny bit more computer savvy but is a blunt and effective tool.

    Yeah, my hosts. file is over 600KB sometimes it blocks a site i need, and ten i have to edit it, but it's a big help. you can also set "questionable" sites to not be allowed to store cookies - how depends on your browser, but I always clear all them out daily. that confounds any site, but one has to keep re-entering ids and pws all the time. that's ok by me,better safe than sorry, especialy on the 'net.
