I can't believe where this thread has gone... While I know nobody gives a damn what I think about anything, nonetheless I think what's happened here is a big misunderstanding, which will only be compounded by the name calling and carrying on that has begun now. While I've had my differences with Kriss and a number of others, just as us trading barbs with each other hasn't done anything to hurt or help either of us, neither will letting this descend into further nonsense be helpful to anyone.
Xfiver made a comment that had no point or purpose... "Fact is stranger than fiction". Peggy quoted the comment as well as that of "deadclan", but I believe Xfiver took her reply, which I doubt was at all related to his comment (as it was an offhand comment of no real significance), the wrong way, and since it's easier for things on this board to go negative than anything else, here we are.
I've been thinking tonight about how we all say that what people think of us on an internet forum doesn't matter to us, but yet we viciously defend ourselves from attack when we know from the start that an internet battle is almost never won by either side. It is just a pointless waste of time and mental energy, where we would all be better served by ignoring those who resort to such foolishness and moving on. We're all old enough to know better, and too smart to truly believe that calling someone an idiot (or a wanker), or trying to put them down in any other way is going to accomplish anything other than wasting seconds of our lives on typing such words, something only a fool or a petulant child would think was worth such effort. Surely we're all better people than this?
