That is Julie at the top of page 3. She had an ad in the LAxpress about three months before she died of the aids. The last time I saw her, she was stark raving mad, walking through the Tenderloin.

Of course all the girls are forgotten. You'll never see a site like shemaleyum or bobs pay tribute to the oldtimers., When I go to Peanuts I am shunned unless I show a lot of money. Of course the current stars will be washed up in 10 years so turnabout is fair play.

I knew Julie had died from AIDS complications, but I didn't know her demise was so tragic. Stark raving mad? That's really sad.

It's also sad that the "originals" are forgotten so readily. These days, Lisa Lawrence and Kim Devine are oldtimers, I guess. But I think the life was harder in some ways back in the 80s. I only had peripheral contact with any girls then (never had a session until 3 years ago), but I surely miss some of the movies and photos from back then. Sulka, Carnal Candy, Shannon--she may have been the smart one, going for her SRS and quiting the scene almost as soon as she hit it; obviously, she used porn as a springboard for her transformation. I wonder what became of her? And there are many others, many mentioned in this thread.

It's such a shame of course that all the pioneers are long forgotten and even more of a pity that so many have died, often of AIDS. Some, like Dana Douglas, were truly very beautiful. I think through posts like these we can at least remember them.
