I find it a small yet glaring contradiction when a person who is offended by the term "shemale" would use the word "fag" with impunity.

Just to be clear, because I have been told it was acceptable by a number of ladies, "tgirl" is fine too, correct (without quotes, of course)? I mean, it's along the lines of trans-women, isn't it?

it works best for some situations but its all on a personal level

i dont think any girl that has spent money time and heartache altering her whole existence and past memories of pre-transtition wants to hear herself be reffered to as a shemale/ lady boy as both of those contain words that only bring up the past and are used always in a degrading ways "porn sites" "trash tv shows" "negative publicity towards the trans community" "bashing from peers"

Both terms are offensive to their respective groups. I'm not sure if you are trying to defend your use of the term "fag" by spinning that something is direct and another is indirect but that is how it sounds. Being a transsexual I would assume you would be sensitive to such "degrating" terms. Come to think of it, in that particular thread (silvester), how and why do imply that he was a "fag"? Do you think "fags" are losers who provoke harsh responses compounded by awkward private messages or perhaps you meant he was a "fag" because of his lack to comprehend a post. Those sort of implications are insulting. If you mean you are just using the term "fag" as an insult on of itself barring any external meanings then that itself is an insult to gays.

I like the word transsexual if any. I prefer woman because I am one. I also use the word tranny when referring to another, but at the same time would be offended if a guy used that word. Its kinda like the "N" word in the black community. They can use it with their own but if someone else calls them that its taken in offense. Also the word shemale is only used in the sex trade, I have never heard of anyone legitimatly referring to themselves as a shemale.
