Default Transexuals who do drag shows

What do you guys think of that? Are we any less transexual, should we be ashamed? A certain H/A threw it in my face that I work in gay clubs, yet couldn't get a job in the hood, yet she does neither. But being a drag queen, do that make me less of a transexual? Are there any other girls on here that have done porn and drag shows? Ts Kourtney, or Kourtney van Whales has done both. And what do the guys think?

A lot of top entertainers are Transexuals. And pretty much all the pageantry systems for the last couple years has been dominated by transexuals. Making a lot of the gay guys that are queens upset at our community.

Even the look on stage and in pageants has changed. Everyone is going for more of the natural look rather than painted for the GODS.

I do shows here and there. Actually I have a show the 25th in Peoria, Illinois at club Diesel welcoming me back home.

Ashamed?? Ashamed of what dear lady...that some ignoramus might try to force their world vision upon your world?

If someone is giving you grief because you're a t-girl in a "DQ show", there's only one solution....quite "accidently" spill your drink on them, preferably one that's dark and colorful.

While I've never understood the allure of drag shows, I say go for it, and go for it with gusto!

There are tons here in NYC. A few of them are very good friends of mine. You keep being who you are, keep loving, keep performing, and don't listen to anyone. They're just jealous and wish they had the talent you and so many others do.

Nah, it's nothing to worry about. I've dated a couple of girls that do or did drag shows that were not drag queens, but actual transexuals on hormones. Meanwhile, there are "transexuals" that aren't on hormones, that will turn up their nose at a girl that does drag shows. It's all semantics. It's kind of tough for a guy to wrap his head around this community sometimes.

Here's what I learned though. Those dresses are hella expensive. They have to wear outlandish makeup because that's what people want to see. But in real life they can look very, very attractive. Sometimes they get paid very little and bust their ass nightly or weekly doing those shows. Some of them have REAL talent.

Respect to you for doing you, Vanessa.

Personally, I don't think your doing drag shows makes you less of a
    transsexual.

I see it the same as if a natal female were to do a drag show, ala
Victor-Victoria. In both instances I feel that we are still women.

However, I do have a problem with drag queens 'reppin' for the
transcommunity. In some instances, I feel that they cast a negative
perception to society of us. And I am not neccessarily referring to the
shows that they do, but rather how they may conduct themselves in
    the light of day.

    Default Thanks

I think that a lot of peoples perceptions of transexuals is a drag queen, or a man in a dress. I am a transexual who is an entertainer, "drag" is the form of entertainment I chose to do. I enjoy what I do, I enjoy being on stage, I enjoy entertaining people, for one moment in your day, you can be taken to another world, a fantasy world, Now to be in this business as I have for 10 years, you have to have TALENT, be professional, and have endurance. Sometimes its not as easy as you think. We have to make our own costumes, which is quite expensive, we have to learn many skills to become a GOOD top of the line entertainer. We have to do everything ourselves. The clubs don't supply make-up artist and hairstylest, so you must know who to become a make-up artist, hairstylist, fashion designer, as well as a public speaker. Now not many girls can do that. Some girls such as Candis Cayne are professional dancers, thus enhancing their illusions a bit more. Oh yes and sometimes thats why we escort, we have to buy all wigs, shoes, everything from head to toe, As we can't just buy clothes off the rack, we need costume designers, we have to by fabrics, stones, my the list goes on and on, so yes, some of us do escort to cover the vast expenses of good costumes, especially girls who compete in transexual beauty pageants. One competition gown can cost $10,000. But we do what we do, we bust our asses to entertain, and I just don't feel its right for some girl who doesn't even have the balls, much less the talent to fix their mouth to say I just work in a gay bar because I can't get a job in the straight world, many straight females have told me they could never do what I do, that they admired us for getting in front of people on a daily bases.
