What's the thought process behind this? Is it just to weed out pranksters and whatnot, or what am I missing?

so the girl knows you're serious about showing up. there's usually 3 calls. first call is for general location
e.g. Northern Blvd exit on BQE or Yankee Stadium stop on 4 train

on the second call when you get there, you may be asked to describe some detail of the neighborhood. She'll give a specific street where she can see you from a window and then you call again, knowing she's watching you. then you get adress and apt #, maybe.

Yeah, it does seem like a good way for a dude to put himself in a very vulnerable position.

I wonder how frequently that position is taken advantage of?
