I apologize if my factual approach to a highly-charged emotional issue offends you. I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings by being realistic. There have been mind-boggling advances in biology in the last several decades, but nothing is being done with them. By now it would be possible to make the change without such painful surgery and make the change all the way down to the cellular level and beyond, to the DNA itself.

That was uncharacteristically rude of you. I never attacked anyone. You apparently have a shitload of baggage from people who have attacked and have been rude about GRS. Naturally a lot of tgirl lovers feel threatened when a tgirl has GRS and are going to attack. Lumping me in with them is maybe understandable due to the many nasty comments I've seen about women who have completed the change, but I invite you to look a little deeper--that's not where I'm coming from at all.

Naturally people who have had or want to have the full change are going to feel threatened by anything they construe as someone saying the surgery didn't work. I can't imagine how much suffering being born into the wrong gender body would cause, but I can understand the sensitivity about GRS and about anyone seen as criticizing the result.

Please understand where I'm coming from on this. If someone born male says she's always felt like a female, I accept that she is a female, regardless of genes, hormones or body parts--because I believe that a person is a mind rather than a body. Baby steps have been taken over the past 20 years, but the big money goes into drug research because that's where the profit is--not in making a person well, but in making them comfortable in their illness or keeping them alive by selling them drugs for the rest of their life. People will pay an incredible amount of money to be comfortable, and will pay anything to stay alive.

I advocate putting a hundred times more money into organ generation and gene therapy as is being spent now. Someday it will probably be possible to change ones' genes from male to female or vice-versa. That's what I'm talking about! Medicine! Growing not just a vagina from one's own tissues, but an entire reproductive system, so she can have kids if she wants, and never has to take hormones because her body will naturally produce female hormones in the proper ratio.

Medicine is a big deal for me. As bad as socialist medicine is, capitalist medicine is no better and in some ways worse, because the focus is on profit rather than making people well.

And if you're a man trapped in a woman's body or a woman trapped in a man's body, you aren't really well until your body has been fully changed in the best way possible. GRS in its current state might be the best option available right now but it's very poor compared to what could be done right now if medical research was guided by the desire to heal people rather than to profit from them.

The first photo isn't very clear, but the second one is truly amazing. You can still tell, but not easily. If I didn't know beforehand that it was a surgery, I probably wouldn't have suspected it from that photo.

I'm glad some surgeons have gotten very good, but I still look forward to the day when an actual female reproductive system can be grown from one's own cells.
