    Default The Phonebooth

It was in Hollywood just of Hollywood Blvd. I think it was near the Capitol records building. They called it the phone booth for this reason. Each booth in the place had a phone and a number-let's say 4-If you saw someone you thought you would like to know you picked up your table phone or one of the bar phones and made a call, dialing #4. It was that easy. The Speak 39 was right down on Hollywood Blvd also. All non fancy drinks were 39 cents. From draw beer to bar liquer. At night it was the #1 spot to pick up the girls. Very rough like the Roadrunner and Black Rose in SF but I had some great times and made friends I still have to this day.

OK - thanks roy404. The PhoneBooth I was speaking of was in the late 60's/ early 70's that I know of. Must have been a different operation.
