    Default Who's your favorite musician.

Mine would be a tie between marilyn manson and gun-n-roses.

    Precisely...

But I'm distressed at the answers here. A "musician" is a person....Not a band. And Bob Dylan is not a good "musician" he is a great songwriter and performer and cultural icon. But "musician?" I don't know. The whole idea of his music was anti-music.

A "musician," by my definition, is somone who plays a "musical" instrument--if that's not the definition in this thread, then disregard what I've said (but what's the point of using a key word in a thread if there is no consensus on the definition of that word).

So "musicians?" For me: Bunny Berigan, Sidney Bechet, Nat King Cole, Jimi Hendrix, Luigi Pagannini, Louis Armstrong, Tommy Dorsey, Jack Teagarden, Cannoball Adderly, Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, Charles Mingus, Buddy Rich...... are only some of my favorites...and people that actually played their respective instruments with virtuosity.

Yeah, his writing is amazing. Others I love are:

    Keb Mo'

Mark Knopfler (solo........more than with Dire Straits)

And Little charlie and the Nightcats
