Never believe for a minute that romantic men don't exist. It just depends on what waters you're fishing in. I was just having this conversation with my old friend back in Colorado yesterday. (He was one of the activists i got to know.) He suggested that I get involved with some group of people or another into camping or activism again. I must admit, the women I met there were probably the smartest I 've ever hung out with.
Every single one of my male friends would treat a woman great. We're all different, so there's room for individual preference. But going after Dirk Squarejaw at Club Grind is not where you're going to find the guy that wants more than a place to park the Pink Mustang.

Look, Kelly, I'm not trying to lecture you...I'm gonna let this one go after this. But if the world was totally accepting of all forms of sexuality, then yeah, no-one would have anything to worry about. But you either stand as a voice against bigotry or you don't. Somebody had to be the first black-white couple at the dance, right? Now it's common, and nobody but the truly backward think it's an issue.
You're perfectly capable of handling your own life, I'm sure. These forums are just a place to bounce ideas around, you know?

I understand societal pressures, but he's letting other people control his life if he has to "hide" you. That's something I had to snap out of in high school, what with cliques and all. Hopefully he will too, if nothing else for himself.

You mentioned media. Does he do some kind of public work? Or did you mean something about media telling us what we should like and aspire toward?
