She may have been looking into a light source just before the picture was taken... People get red eyes because the cornia is wide open... Looking into a light souces just before the flash goes off would cause the cornia to close... nothing to do with operations, I think.

It's just like a camera..

Or it could be the magic of Photoshop...

It is indeed the pupile that widens, but only after proper training...

Interesting about the contact lenses..., never worked for me, though...still single..
