The thing I totally agree with was that Vaniity didn't get a nomination last year and I didn't get one this year. I personally would be insulted if I made just a movie or two and got a nomination (or had to nominate myself) instead of getting one from a company based upon my work. So before anyone jumps all over me for what I am about to post, consider that I am saying, "I am glad I didn't get a nomination" as I didn't even make any movies in 2006 that were released in 2006. And my two releases were definitely not what I consider Performer of the Year work.

What I don't agree with is that all it takes to be nominated is to nominate yourself. A company can nominate as many people as they want. Gia nominates herself every year as of course she should. However, you don't see Jenna Jamison being nominated every year for performer of the year, even though she could nominate herself. She doesn't because she would look like a big joke to the mainstream industry because everyone knows she only works for herself.

The AVN people aren't really educated, nor do they care about who is realistic for being nominated in the TS performer category. A few key members of the former senior management actually were into transsexuals. That is no longer really the case. The people on this list that got a nomination from a third party company that they weren't directly affilliated with are: Danielle, Vaniity, and Holly... Allanah got the nom from Gia which is fine also. She is their only contract girl. I would argue it takes more than one scene to be considered for performer of an entire year, but it has happened.

I know two companies who nominated Danielle, and one (maybe 2) who nominated Vaniity. I think Buck getting a nomination in this category is insulting. Putting TS women and pitting them against TS men is fucking retarded. I realize Buck is an anomoly and really doesn't have competition for his genre, but he doesn't really fit into this award either.

The only reason I should hear lip from anyone on what I am saying is if it isn't true. I don't want to hear, "oh Vicki you're just jealous" simply because many of these nominations don't make a lot of sense to me.

I can't say I know alot about how these particular awards work, but congrats to Buck too.

I've certainly heard alot of jokes run his way, I've even threw one at one of the boxcover posted ads here. But I do think Buck has a right to be in the running. I mean afterall he is obviously a transsexual and has done some movies, albeit, strange movies to me, but movies nonetheless.

He got a nomination in spite of many peoples apprehension towards him which makes him the underdog story. Good for him I say. Congrats.

Yeah we got fucked on the dollar again. I didn't take any advertising in AVN this year (but had booked in the January one) so even though Buddy Wood's Shemale Schoolgirls was given 4 stars in the latest AVN and outsold according to AVN's own figures many of the nominated titles - it didn't get nominated.

We nominated Yasmin Lee and I was 99% certain she'd be on that list - it's a shame she isn't and just goes to show that the power of the Evil Angel, Devil's film marketing dollar goes a lot further than talent.

I'll eat my hat if Joanna ever gets it (maybe eat her hat also) as she's too independant although her output has been less this year.
Did Vaniity have a release this year?

Buck is a great dude but it is the wrong place for him to be running. How can they be compared?

Hey Seanchai Vaniity was in a Rogue Adventures release and she was in Transtastic, Defiance really really pushed that dvd though I thought it was a let down because most of the ts couldnt stay hard I will say that Vaniity had the best scene BY FAR oh yea she was in the Belladonna Video also.
