Good lists so far. The ones I have to watch all the way through are:
1) Ran
2) Braveheart
3) Kagemusha
4) The 9th Gate
5) Unforgiven
6) Poltergeist
7) Seven Samurai
8 ) Hero
9) LOTR trilogy
10) Matrix trilogy
I'm a big kuwosawa fan.
Btw, I'm amused at how many guys also loved Braveheart

I saw someone mentioned Suicide Kings as well. Another great movie.

Life is essentially one long Benny Hill skit punctuated by the occasional Anne Frank moment.

I also watched Die Hard the other night. Rickman is one of those actors that I'd go to watch read laundry lists.
Equally at home with lines like:
"After all that, you're nothing but a common thief!"
"I am an exceptional thief! And I am moving up to kidnapping, so you'd do well to be nice to me!"
And:
"Help me! Help Me!
"Oy, royt then! It's always about YOU isn't it?"
"In times of universal deceit, telling the truth will be a revolutionary act." - George Orwell
