Being on the autism spectrum and being a sexual being

Not that long ago I was diagnosed with being on the autism spectrum. I suspected it some time before. Since then I have started thinking about my experiences, and lack of experience, with my sexuality, how it has changed and in what ways. I sometimes feel asexual with a total lack of wanting to have sex with anyone, but then it changes. Does anyone else have some experience with this? I would love to hear it.

I think having periods of being disinterested in sex is fairly normal and there could be a variety of causes. If you are seeing a health care professional already wouldn't it be better to ask them about any connection to autism?

Thank you for your thoughts. I am looking for other people who are also on the spectrum, who might want to share experiences. I am not seeing a heath care professional about these topics. Maybe I will some day.
