Yes it’s pretty bad. We get along though and both are in agreement that this is awkward but he wants me to finish off the lease since his mom is actually my co-signer as well. So I’m just waiting off these last 8 months so I can have proper rental history while I’m also working on raising and actually having a credit score for the first time in my life since I don’t have any of my own family support since I was disowned at 19. I understand your advice fully and would love nothing more than to run away but at the same time I’m a realist and need to make sure all my ducks are aligned before moving to the west coast to continue to embark more passionately on my career in the adult industry. This is why I also don’t drink or smoke or do any drugs of any sort because I need to have a handle on my life and how to navigate through it without numbing all the pain away.

Itzel I'm going to give you some advice from a stuffy middle-aged conservative asshole - fuck your lease. Fuck your ex and fuck your lease, it's your life. Eight months is forever when you're young.

Hell, I may be a little out of touch with the rental community but IIRC rentals don't even show up on your CBR. At your age you could easily say you've just been living at home (wouldn't be a lie, wherever you live, that's home) and no one would even bat an eye. They're not going to call your mother and ask.

Go west, young lady. I have the feeling they're all just sitting around waiting for you to get there.

And also, you know, get a job, pay your bills, don't do drugs (weed isn't a drug, smoke up), live within your means, keep building that credit score (use your credit cards but pay them off every month, get an auto loan and make double payments, quickest way), mind your own business and remember one thing - everyone is out for themselves and there's no love in L.A. So watch out for #1.

Thank you very much for the life advice I’ve of course been thinking of doing that but as a trans woman of color Im in constant fear of always having to make sure my ducks are aligned. Like everything has to be done legal and ethical because I’m afraid of leaving and breaking my lease and ultimately shooting myself in the foot making it harder to simply find a stable place to live out in the west coast. Im very analytical and always outweigh the pros and cons in every situation. So simply leaving right now probably would cause more harm than good. Unless by some miracle I can find a place to live out there earlier than July, than I don’t l don’t find leaving to be a risk I’m willing to take at the moment.

Wow Itzel. It's easy for myself and Mr. Nick Danger to give advise... it's something else when you are in the middle of it. You are a very level headed girl so trust your instincts. I will repeat though, don't ever co-sign. Been there, done that, got burned. Had to pay off my brothers car. Sucked.

Oh. Sorry Nick. Marijuana is a drug. Albeit a rather mild one but still a drug. I was a pot head for 10 years. Quit years ago, not because it was illegal, but because it made me stupid and paranoid. So if you don't use don't start. You aren't missing anything.
