Default Today's Anniversary:400 Years Since the Voyage of the Mayflower

Having started out from Rotherhithe in London, and docking at Southampton before reaching Plymouth, the Mayflower finally left the south coast port on the 16th of September 1620, to cross the Atlantic. A rough and by all accounts miserable voyage lasted 66 days, and instead of sighting land at Virginia, the voyagers found themselves looking at Cape Cod.

Religious fanatics, chancers and opportunists...what happened next, one wonders?

Lucky you! Not sure what else to say -Other Rocks are Available?

I would not waste any time or money visiting the other Plymouth. It might be in desirable and often beautiful Devon, (on the border with Cornwall), but it's a Navy town, which means, at night in particuar, it is these days more Piss Gang than Press Gang. Indeed, if you find yourself there, get in the car and drive north to Padstow. Better coastline, better shopping, and probably better fish 'n chips.
