Do you care about the resolution of your porn videos?

It's been like 5 years since we've last had the discussion on here, so I'm curious how people's feelings have changed with the technology.


When you watch your porn - does the resolution of the video matter to you? What are your the screens you watch porn on able to handle-- HD (1280 x 720), Full HD (1280 x 720), or 4K (3840 x 2160)?


What about a video you already own: If it gets remastered in a higher resolution (and assuming there's no "upscaling" shennanigans), do you care enough to want to re-aquire it?

Just as storage becomes cheaper and people have larger and larger HDDs or indeed NASs, along comes streaming which makes the issue more about bandwidth and connection speed.

Personally speaking, if I'm just dying to crack off some knuckle children (), then I really don't give a hoot about the resolution. As long as it's SD or better (ie. 540 or bigger), I'm happy. I have some really old clips in my "library" that are so grainy, they're not really watchable.

But to answer your question, I wouldn't pay a (significant) premium for 4K and so on, no matter how outstanding the performances or the production.

Only up to a point. SD DVD quality was enough for me. 1080p shit I could take it or leave it. And I actively dislike 4k

To be fair back when regular HD became the norm, there was a grooby comic that highlighted all the new sins that could be seen on models after the change. Higher resolutions just make those issues worse.

To me 4k, totally unnecessary and 720 is OK. It's porn, not a documentary about mating penguins in the arctic.
