Default Child drag gives LGBTQ community a bad rep

Desmond is a 10 year old drag queen that has been doing drag I believe a little more than a year. I've known about this for while and was pretty disappointed in the drag community, but it wasn't until a couple weeks ago where I was really disgusted. For one of his photo shoots for a popular magazine it shows him dressed in a black dress next to a basically naked full grown adult by the name of Violet Chachki.

In any other context or profession this person would be JAILED. Yet dozens of popular news outlets are covering this and no one is getting involved, but the people involved in drag (in this shoot) seem to be exploiting the system by putting a LGBTQ label on it of "anything goes, be who are you".

People that have nothing to do with the LGBTQ community and don't understand the layers to being transgender could be greatly misinformed. Some think all transgenders are transsexual, some know nothing about drag and see this as a way to bash the trans community as a whole.

What I'm really upset about is how nothing has been issued to do something about this kid and how swept under the rug this has become. This is not okay to normalize for children and everyone involved deserve to be punished.

I have blurred out the image of the young child as showing it would only endorse the acts.

Yeah, this shit is not the business. This is completely inappropriate and just plain creepy. Doesn't this kid do drag shows at full on adult ass bars and nightclubs that serve alcohol? How is this anymore acceptable than a 10 year old girl around a bunch of men in a banana hammock? Propping this child up as some symbol of openness and freedom ain't it chief.

If they really wanted to help this kid out, they could use their resources to start an organization that introduces kids who are interested in drag to it. If my 10 year old niece or nephew was in one of these pics or situations, I'd be tempted to knock every motherfucker out who greenlit, starring with the person in the pic. This promotes pedophilia. Period.

I believe I read that Desmond has done gay bars before which is really messed up. Drag is extremely different from TS, for one its part of the gay culture which doesn't correlate with how trans women feel. I also don't even feel qualified to talk about drag queens because it's not something that interests me and I even somewhat detest the culture because I feel it mocks trans.

I don't have a problem with any child becoming transsexual at a early age because wanting to become the opposite sex isn't connected to porn or adult related things. So many guys that watch TS porn think we're all horny sex fiends that want to be used like objects when there are many regular TS out there that live normal 9-5 jobs.

The main reason I don't like kids doing drag is because it isn't a need in life. It's not like being trans and feeling like you're somebody else. Some people would say it's a type of art. I also see it as primarily adult oriented.

I never thought to consider how drag is perceived by trans people. Interesting to hear your perspective. Is that something yall address with the gay community or you just leave it as is?

I've been to a couple drag shows at a gay bar recently and can't imagine a kid in there. The adult bar environment aside, the shows themselves have no place for a kid. Mouthing sexually explicit lyrics, affectionately referring to their peers and audience as sluts and bitches, talking about getting fucked and sucking dick. I imagine that's the general theme of most drag shows.

It's a very weird grey area. The thing is if you're TS and want to go out to be social without the pressure of going to a normal bar to explain to guys, you almost have to go to a gay bar. TS women aren't gay though (in their eyes being with a man is straight). Gay's like masculinity, everything TS aren't. They like abs, hair, muscle. Even if they're into twinks, there's certain features that are different from TS.

I can't speak for all TS, but for me personally its a complete turn off thinking of being with a gay guy. Gay guys also like using words like sissy or faggot for dirty talk, I've had it happen very rarely online and instant block the person. I'd say out of like 50 messages I'll get one openly gay guy. That's how different the attraction is. It's kind of an untold secret that big portion between drag and TS don't typically get along. They're both grouped into the LGBTQ community so they just try to ignore each other, but the reality is they're polar opposites.

I'm observing that children are being used by certain elements of the LGBTQ community to champion their rights.

In the chapter she wrote for the essays in Stonewall, Sylva Rivera who was there recounts how the transgendered Americans who broke the wall were instantly rejected and marginalized by the gay men and women who took control of the gay rights movement, to the point of her despair. I don't think much has changed, in attitudes, though support at a broad level for equal rights is more broadly accepted As long as you go somewhere else for your fun.

On how many occasions did Michael Jackson simulate masturbation in his performances that were either live and/or recorded, and what impact did it have on the children who watched it?

It’s pretty fucked up how this kid is being used.
