The current trend appears to be against the 'free availability' of 'adult' content online, one example of which has been the UK's Digital Economy Act of 2017 that was supposed to impose on adult websites an obligation to create an Age Verification mechanism prior to viewing online material. The Act was supposed to take effect in 2018 but has been delayed to 2019, and while there will be ways round it, there is an assumption that it will reduce traffic to websites if users do not wish to register with the Age Verification portals, and I am not sure how they will verify my age though there are claims it may be done through credit card details or some other verifiable agency.
