To top it off he works in the same industry as me, and there is a very good chance he may even be employed at my company (not yet confirmed).

I've since changed my picture of course lol
That's absolutely savage and why I've always swerved the Grindr even though i know some fucking hot girls on there. Good to confirm i was not being paranoid and had good reason to avoid. Sorry to hear that buddy. Fingers crossed he is not a prick about it.

    No it doesn't

The original post is why my face photo isn't on there...and never will be.

I use Grindr and have never been recognized IRL (that I know of). But, I have recognized a few t-girls IRL that I saw on the app. Of course, it's possible they also recognized me and we both just had the courtesy not to be creepy...

The best way to avoid weirdos on dating or hookup apps doxing or harassing you is to simply not reply to anyone who doesn't meet your criteria.

Similar to tsmounting sandiegopervysage when using grindr. When i posted my profile, even with tribes being ts, and in my profile. I still get hit up by guys, they dont read, haha. I got a message once from a guy that i am certain works at one of the gas stations near me, but not in to guys. I work for myself, so not worried about the bs you guys are going through tho, sorry. But, I have met some great tgirls on there, give it a try.

Wrote the above post over a year ago. In that time, I've continued to use Grindr and still haven't been recognized IRL (or at least no one has acknowledged that they recognize me). By the same token, I still recognize girls from the app from time-to-time while I'm out and about.

I'm curious about trying Grindr, but this is one reason I don't want to. Do most people put face pics on? I'd never do that. I'd be far more interested in meeting trans women than in meeting men. How does it work. What pics do most people put on Grindr? Are the trans women on there mostly escorts or are they looking for hookups or relationships?

Just a normal guy looking for a normal girl.

Grindr is inherently local in nature, because it functions by GPS location. So answers may vary by region. Where I'm located, I've noticed lots of men's profiles have faceless body pictures or entirely pictureless, especially when they are looking for trans women. On the other hand, the vast majority of trans women's profiles have face pictures. The reply (if any) to a message from a faceless or pictureless profile is usually "do you have a face pic?" So be prepared to immediately send multiple pictures or be blocked. The mix for escorts to semi-pros and non-pros varies. By that I mean there are lots escorts only looking for work, but there are also lots of trans women who escort but aren't necessarily looking for work (if a guy is young, muscular and good looking). That being said, there are also lots girls only looking for dates, hookups, etc. You can usually tell who is looking for what by reading profiles. In my experience, super-hot girls with minimal info who frequently create, then delete, and then recreate their accounts are escorts only looking for work. Hope that helps.

I have a Grindr profile, but I RARELY use it. I think I've only hooked up twice from that app, from what I can remember. My profile pic is a faceless torso pic, but I do provide face pics upon request. It's a pain in the ass (and not in the good way). Most of the time, you get weirdos messaging you, even when you clearly state you're there for tgirls. This gay guy I went to middle school with hit me up, which had me paranoid. Again, my face isn't on my profile, so I'm pretty sure he didn't know....still nerve-wracking though. When you message a gurl or femboi you like, most of the time it leads to nothing (fembois on there send great pics in the messages, tho). I also used to worry about being clocked by my location at work or other social situations. I usually delete the app altogether when done browsing, and there's an option to only track location while the app is in use. However, I still don't fully trust it.

Personally, I miss CL. Yea, the phone app thing is convenient and efficient. However, for discreet guys, the anonymity of CL was way better. When that website was in its prime, I can't even count how many randos of all genders I hooked up with.
