I agree with your analysis with a half & half, sir! One hand: I cannot prove his claim to be "false" so I can't say with 100% certainty he's fibbing. One the other hand, his account does seem suspect, that's why I concluded with:

Those men are well above 40. I'm sure he means brothers born in the 50s or later, which is true. I know a ton of old heads that still say it. Not as frequently as younger folks but they definitely do say it.

I was absolutely talking about brothers who were born in the late 1940s'/early 1950s', because there was this notion that the word was only being used by later generations.

I maybe only in my mid 40s, but I have read and studied enough history to know the concept of the word and the ugliness that goes with it. I also know you can't speak in absolutes and say that there were no black people from older generations that didn't say that word among themselves.
