Well my observation is there are TWO TYPES of women threatened by the "Courtesan Class": WIVES and MISSTRESSES. Neither like have multiple options on the playing field! That being said, the lady politicians are making this a "humanitarian"(read: "morals") issues. Consenting adults get thrown under the bus because "you're NOT supposed to...,anyway!"
