Re: The end of an Era.
So it seems pretty clear that the recent change to phone number only headlines on backpage is related to the pending law change. But I’m curious as to how this strategy will satisfy the new law. Any ideas?

Re: The end of an Era.
Unfortunately, the sex industry is the ultimate easy target because of hypocrisy. Even though a significant percentage of the population (including politicians) uses its services, nobody wants to be seen defending it publicly. If any other similar-sized industry was similarly affected by poorly-targeted legislation there would be a storm of opposition. But how many people are willing to call their representatives and complain about losing access to escort ads and reviews.

Re: The end of an Era.
Today I went to CL personal ads from Tijuana and found they are unchanged. So, I would venture to say that if oh, let's say someone who lives in San Diego or L.A. were to place an ad in Tijuana CL or in CL from other countries BUT had their US phone number then they could get around the issue of not being able to post an ad on San Diego or L.A. CL per se. Follow me?
