    yes, I love Victorian era mysteries . It's dealing with class, gender, sexuality and corruption. Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning are perfectly cast and the inclusion of historical figures like Teddy Roosevelt only adds to the intrigue.

    So far it has kept my attention. The period, the dark corners of the mind, the gender bending, everything people have already mentioned are done well. I believe it's based on the 1994 novel of the same name by Caleb Carr. Haven't read it and now I'm not likely to - don't want to ruin the series.
